Pongal the Harvest festival is celebrated in Tamil Nadu and in most part of Southern India.. It is the first day of the new month called *Thai *. The Sun God is worshipped and thanked for his bountiful blessings of warmth of life. The importance of Sun light and the entire growth process of crop from sowing till harvesting was explained to children. The arrival of spring which symbolises new beginning and prosperity is welcomed through spritual practices and rituals. To enhance a better understanding creative art and craft activities like drawing colouring pertaining to Pongal festival was done by the children and displayed in the school premises. On this special occasion the pride of India's unity in diversity was exhibited through their way of colourful traditional dressing. Madam Principal and Vice Principal performed the Pooja with the gatherings of teacher's students and parents. Sweet Pongal was distributed to everyone present on the occasion.
